I bought another poppy this morning. It's my third one this year.

The man with the tray had a chest of medals and it was his second morning outside Sevenoaks railway station. I'm pleased to report he seemed to be doing good business.

Buying a poppy or two is hardly a sacrifice.

Having made visits to a number of Commonwealth War Graves whilst on holiday in France, I always come away thinking how lucky I've been to have avoided a war.
