We had a family bike ride along this new cycle route the first weekend it opened. It was popular with other as well!

There are three or four gates, or restrictions, along the way which were easy to navigate by my wife and son on their bikes. However, not so for mine:

Once we got to Penshurst we had a rest and watched a little cricket:

A lot of this route used to be covered in the cross country runs we used to do at school. However, I don't recall these plants way back then:

It grows to quite a height (6 foot or so) with a strong, bamboo like, stem. It seems to like water and covers quite large patches ... I don't like it, although the flowers are quite pretty.

I suppose we were out for about three hours in all, which was just about ideal.
