It was a lovely day for a walk and, without time to explore the countryside, we did a lap of the Sports Ground.
We bagan our walk using the path alonside the Castle wall. This, according to the Kent and Sussex Courier may be closed as it is becoming a maintenance liability.

I was disappointed to find the square where I played so much cricket is now the middle of a football pitch.

There was also the evidence of the heavy recent rainfall ((the reason I've found it difficult to mow the lawn at home).

Apparently, these buoys have been installed for some time. The weir used to have a small chain to stop to stop the odd rowing boat from a hairy ride. They seem to be catching more of the flotsome and jetsome.

Even bigger versions at the Town Lock!
