John Thomas Kenny (RIP)

I attended the funeral service of a friend from my bowls club who'd died suddenly on the eve of the Finals weekend.

John was always a good person to meet as he was always cheerful. Someone who could put you in a good mood. I was both shocked and saddened when I heard the news.

I started playing with him when I joined a team run by my Dad. John was a good player and was very encouraging when I started as well as later when I'd improved a little.

That he played well himself should have been no surprise. He'd played professional football at a high level (QPR, West Ham, Portsmouth and finally at Tonbridge) and was a good sportsman.
